PADNOS in Michigan is seeking a Material Inspector/Yard Associate to inspect and grade materials received at the yard and assist with loading, unloading, and processing for shipment. The role involves operating small equipment and working outdoors, with training provided for equipment and recycling processes.

The position follows a rotating 4‑day schedule (Mon–Sat), 7am–5:30pm, with a focus on delivering a positive customer experience to clients and truck drivers in a fast-paced yard environment.

Qualifications

• Six months’ small equipment experience preferred.
• Equipment operation and preventative maintenance knowledge.
• Basic computer skills.
• Great interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Inventory control knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Sort, process and inventory material (Non-Ferrous Metals) by operating shears, balers, loaders and forklifts
• Assist with purchasing various grades of recyclable materials from customers.
• Support customers with the unloading of materials.
• Assist with preparing, packing, and loading materials for shipment.
• Sort and process materials in accordance with company standards.
• Operate equipment such as loaders, forklifts, or other machinery as needed
• Assist with vehicle and appliance processing activities
• Conduct basic inspections and documentation as required
• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with material tracking
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Position Summary

The Material Inspector/Yard Associate interacts with customers while inspecting and grading materials delivered to the yard. This role may operate small equipment to help process and prepare materials for shipment. We are looking for an energetic, customer-focused individual who enjoys working with people and providing a positive, face-to-face experience for customers and truck drivers. This position works primarily outdoors, and we are happy to train the right person on our equipment and recycling.

Schedule

• Monday - Saturday (4-Day: Rotating Schedule)
• 1st Shift 7am - 5:30pm
