Job summary

Benchmade is seeking a Material Handling Technician to pull, pack, and prepare finished goods for shipping in our Oregon City facility. The role includes refilling product bins, receiving inventory, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED equivalent, or current enrollment in high school.
• Familiarity with MRP systems and performing inventory transactions.
• Basic understanding of inventory controls and cycle counting.
• Strong computer and data entry skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Good verbal and written communication with internal customers and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory electronically using Syspro MRP system (and other computer applications).
• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials in stock; records location of inventory.
• Perform cycle counts of inventory.
• Provides excellent service to customers (internal stakeholders) and vendors.
• Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; identify when lock out, tag out is appropriate.
• Display awareness to safety guidelines and report safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Support on-going reporting of key performance metrics.
• Contribute ideas to improve warehousing procedures.

Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred but not required. Equivalent education, training, or experience will be considered.* Able to work in a manufacturing environment (exposure to noise, coolants, abrasives, heat, cold, adhesives, automated and manual machinery) wearing PPE (safety glasses, safety shoes, and Kevlar gloves).* Familiarity with MRP systems and performing inventory transactions.* Basic understanding of inventory controls and cycle counting.* Strong computer and data entry skills required (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).* Good verbal and written communication skills, with co-workers, internal customers and vendors.* Demonstrate great attendance, punctuality, and time sensitivity.* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and multi-task accurately.* Quality-conscious individual with excellent attention to detail.* Must be able to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.* Works well in a collaborative and positive team environment.**Working Conditions:*** Working Environment: Production floor.* Physical Demands: Repetitively lifting up to 50 lbs; and standing, bending, and walking for long periods of time.* Travel Requirements: As needed, less than 5% of the time.* Overtime and/or shift change may be required).
