Job summary

ADP, Inc. in Ohio is seeking a Material Handling Tech Level 2 to support receiving and shipping on the shop floor.

Under the supervision of the Receiving & Shipping Supervisor, you will operate a forklift, move materials, and ensure timely delivery to designated areas. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, reading blueprints, using an overhead crane, collaborating with teammates, and upholding safety and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a multi-directional forklift and move material to planned destinations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints to assist with material placement.
• Must communicate effectively with team members and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate a multi-directional forklift to move material between locations on the shop floor.
• Load and unload material from pallets, trays, racks, or shelves by hand as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints; collaborate with team; ensure material is placed safely and accurately.
• Use an overhead crane when required to move heavy items; maintain PPE and safety compliance at all times.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and report hazards promptly.

Summary

Under direction of the Receiving & Shipping Supervisor, the Material Handling Tech is responsible for operating a forklift taking material then loading, unloading, and moving it to a designated area on the shop floor meeting customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operating a multi-directional forklift moving material from one destination to another
• Loads and unloads material onto or form pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
• Ability to use an overhead crane
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Work closely with team members and communicates in an efficient way
• Being able to safely move material to specific destinations in the shop
• Comply with safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE at all times
• Check work area for hazards
• Leave work area in a clean/safe state when shift is complete

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred
