Job summary

Steele Solutions in South Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Material Handling Tech L1 to operate a multi-directional forklift, move material between destinations on the shop floor, and load/unload items to pallets in order to meet customer requirements while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Under the Receiving & Shipping Supervisor, you will read and interpret blueprints, work with team members, use an overhead crane, and ensure work areas are clean and hazards are controlled.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Wamiliarity with overhead crane operations and PPE compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operating a multi-directional forklift moving material from one destination to another.
• Loads and unloads material onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Ability to use an overhead crane.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Work closely with team members and communicates in an efficient way.
• Being able to safely move material to specific destinations in the shop.
• Comply with safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Check work area for hazards and leave it in a clean/safe state at shift end.

Summary

Under direction of the Receiving & Shipping Supervisor, the Material Handling Tech is responsible for operating a forklift taking material then loading, unloading, and moving it to a designated area on the shop floor meeting customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
