Job summary

Grifols Shared Services North America, Inc. in North Carolina seeks a Plasma Materials Handling Operator for 1st shift (M-F, 5:00am–1:30pm) to join the Plasma Logistics Center. You will receive plasma from donor centers and control the flow of materials using the Plasma Management System (SGP).

You will unload shipments, inspect equipment, and move inventory with RF terminals while maintaining CGMP compliance and a clean, organized work environment. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years in Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical or FDA-licensed setting preferred.
• Forklift experience and ability to read SOPs are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Unload plasma shipments and identify plasma types in the Plasma Management System.
• Inspect equipment for damage and determine suitability for production.
• Use RF Terminal to track inventory movements in freezer/warehouse locations.
• Retrieve plasma from freezer work orders and ensure proper sorting.
• Identify and remove unsuitable plasma units and support inspection.
• Maintain CGMP compliance with cleanliness and organization.
• Adhere to company policies, SOPs, CGMP, OSHA, and EHS requirements.
• Occasional overtime may be required.

Plasma Material Handling Operator

(1st Shift)

M-F 5:00am - 1:30pm

Summary:

This position is the point of contact for plasma operations at the Plasma Logistics Center where the incumbent receives raw materials (plasma) from donor centers and controls the flow of materials until they are sent for fractionation. As a skilled specialist using the Plasma Management System (SGP), this position supports Supply Chain related projects, provides guidance to peers, and trains/coaches department employees. This position is responsible for controlling raw material inventory throughout receipt, classification, and distribution and is able to handle plasma types from all suppliers, going to all customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Responsible to unload plasma shipments, identify and sort types of plasma, and enter receipts into the Plasma Management System (SGP).

2. Inspect equipment for damage and determine suitability for further use in production (crates, pallets).

3. Use Radio Frequency Terminal (RFT) equipment to control and monitor the movements of inventory within all freezer and warehouse locations.

4. Locate plasma by verifying and pulling material from freezer work orders.

5. Identify and remove unsuitable plasma units from processed production units (PU’s) and consolidated lots.

6. Assist Classification area by managing plasma that is rejected or relocated from the inspection line.

7. Responsible for maintaining CGMP compliance by insuring a high level of cleanliness and organization.

8. Complies with all company policies/SOPs/cGMP/OSHA/EHS requirements.

9. Able to work occasional overtime

Education:

High school diploma or GED

Experience:

1. One to two years of experience in Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical or other FDA licensed Industry or documented and demonstrated abilities to meet requirements through the department curriculum based qualifications is required.

2. Experience using forklifts and/or other power equipment.

3. Experience in reading, understanding, and following Standard Operating Procedures is desirable.

Occupational Demands:

1. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and electronically with management and other team members

2. Able to safely and effectively operate a forklift to store plasma in the freezer and transport throughout the warehouse.

3. Able to safely and effectively operate electric pallet jack/rider electric pallet jack.

4. Able to repeatedly lift 25 to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.

5. Able to work in extreme temperature of -30C or colder.

6. Able to work with minimum supervision and follow detailed directions.

7. Ability to perform quality work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.

8. Ability to interpret and follow written procedures.

9. Capable of performing basic math and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).

10. Capable of being cross trained as a Plasma Classification Inspector.
