Job summary

Webstaurantstore is seeking Material Handlers to efficiently receive products and process shipping orders in a fast-paced warehouse in Sparks, NV. You will use internal systems and equipment, including powered industrial trucks, and work at a fast pace with a strong attention to detail.

Cross-training and on-site mentoring are included. Positions involve operating forklifts, order pickers, scanners, and conveyors; lifting up to 75 lbs; and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment; receiving and/or inventory experience preferred but not required.
• Business proficiency in English, reading, writing and verbal communication.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, order pickers, scanners.

Responsibilities

• Drive an order picker to bins and identify items and quantities for orders.
• Walk to bins and identify items and quantities for orders.
• Ensure orders are picked properly and on time with attention to detail.
• Use a scanner to verify products and load them onto a conveyor belt.
• Identify correct pallet sizes and downsize packaging to minimize shipping costs.
• Prepare pallets for shipment, stacking, wrapping, and securing in transit.
• Operate wrap machines and adjust settings based on pallet size and weight.
• Label orders with appropriate stickers.
• Unload containers timely, verify item numbers and quantities.
• Receive and stock inventory to fulfill orders quickly and accurately.
• Identify carrier and move palletized product to designated trucks.
• Stack packages in interlocking patterns and manage trailer loading.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and follow all protocols.
• Meet performance standards for efficiency, accuracy, and quality.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOBS AND JOB FUNCTIONS

Order Picker-

• Drive an order picker to assigned bins, identifying proper items and quantities for all orders


• Walk to assigned bins, identifying proper items and quantities for all orders


• Ensure that all orders are picked properly in a timely manner with strong attention to detail


• Use a scanner to verify and identify products and then load products onto a conveyor belt

Order Prepper-

• Identify correct pallet size and downsize packaging to minimize shipping costs without sacrificing product quality and ensure that the product will be delivered without damage


• Prepare pallets for shipment by making sure the order is properly stacked, wrapped, and protected in transit.


• Operate wrap machines and adjust settings based on pallet size and weight, using different wrapping techniques to make sure order is secured


• Label orders with appropriate stickers

Container Unloader-

• Unload containers in a timely fashion, within required limitations set by drivers and the company


• Confirm item numbers and quantity of orders with high level to detail


• Receive and stock inventory to fulfill orders as they are processed to ensure a high level of speed and accuracy

Truck Loader-

• Accurately identify carrier based off label on package


• Move palletized product from non-con and fast track taping areas to load onto proper designated trucks if needed


• Efficiently stack packages into correct trailer based on carrier in an interlocking pattern


• Lock out incoming trailers and unlock outgoing trailers

ALL POSITIONS-

• Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standards


• Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work


• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership


• Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals


• Abide by all company and warehouse policies


• Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation

WAGE

Starting Wage is $24.00/hr, with the potential raise every 6 months of up to $0.88.

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.


• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.


• Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.


• Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.


• Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

Experience

• 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment; receiving and/or inventory experience preferred but not required.
