Job summary

Douglas Dynamics is seeking Material Handlers to join our team to support fabrication, welding and assembly cells. This role will help ensure parts and materials are available, stock FIFO and kitted carts, and restock finished parts supermarkets to keep production flowing.

You will operate a hi-lo forklift, maintain organization and 5S, and communicate potential shortages with the Buyer/Planner. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and growth opportunities at an industry leader.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a current forklift and aerial lift platform license.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach above shoulders and outward.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties in support of fabrication, welding and assembly cells.
• Stock FIFO and kitted carts with parts based on production schedule.
• Restock fabricated and purchased parts in finished parts supermarket.
• Operate a hi-lo forklift to move stock or replenish materials.
• Maintain 5S and safe working conditions; comply with regulations and policies.

THE ROLE

We are seeking Material Handlers to join our team and help drive our continued success This role plays an important part in supporting our customers strengthening our business and contributing to the long term growth of Douglas Dynamics

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

• Performs a variety of duties in support of the companys fabrication welding and assembly cells
• Duties include but not limited to stocking FIFO and kitted carts with parts in required quantities based on level loaded production schedule
• restock fabricated and purchased parts in finished part supermarket
• maintain finished part supermarkets
• coordinate replenishment and communicate potential shortages with BuyerPlanner
• perform daily 5S maintenance
• other duties as assigned

HOW YOULL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

• Ensuring parts and materials are available to support fabrication welding and assembly cells
• Stock FIFO and kitted carts with required parts and quantities based on the production schedule
• Restock fabricated and purchased parts in the finished parts supermarket
• Maintain organization and accuracy of finished parts supermarkets
• Coordinate replenishment activities to support production needs
• Operate a hi lo forklift as needed to move stock or replenish materials
• Performs tasks to JIs as trained
• Maintains safe working conditions and 5S
• Compliance with regulations procedures and policies
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Participate in company training programs
• Works effectively in a team environment
• Reports packaging problems piece part abnormalitiesnonconformance and unusual workplace events to BU lead person or supervisor
• Uses a variety of unpowered and powered material handling equipment
• Performs other duties as assigned

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks with little supervision
• Ability to obtain and maintain a current Forklift and Arial lift platform license
• Basic computer skills required
• Ability to stand walk reach above shoulders and outward
• Ability to bend squat and crawl
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
