Job summary

Peak Workforce Solutions (Newbold Services) in York, SC, is seeking a Material Handler skilled in sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, and related tasks. You will move and track inventory, adhere to safety and inventory controls, and help maintain facilities for efficient operations.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year forklift experience, and WorkKeys assessments for the Material Handler role, with OT availability and lifting requirements of

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year forklift experience required.
• All new hires must take WorkKeys assessments for the Material Handler classification.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to inventory control procedures and guidelines.
• Follow safety policies and procedures including proper lifting, driving, handling, and storage.
• Maintain forklifts by performing maintenance checklists.
• Charge lifts and fuel gas operated trucks per work instructions.
• Read orders/schedules to ensure correct material handling.
• Use computer systems to locate material in the system.
• Ensure tags/labels are on all material.
• Store material in proper locations and ensure timeliness to avoid downtime.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping at all times.

Compensation

This position offers competitive starting pay $17.00 per hour (OT is available!) With bonus opportunities for 2nd shift ONLY!

Job Description

• Adhere to all inventory control procedures/guidelines.
• Review and adhere to safety policies and procedures including proper lifting, driving, handling and storage procedures.
• Adhering to all work instructions and inventory control responsibilities as needed.
• Must be able to maintain forklifts by performing maintenance check list responsibilities.
• Charge lifts and fuel gas operated trucks by following work instructions.
• Read orders and/ or schedules to ensure proper material is being moved and/ or delivered
• Use computer to find and/ or transact material in the system
• Ensure identifying tags or labels are on all material being moved
• Ensure material is being store in proper storage locations
• Ensure all material handling operations are done in a timely manner to ensure no loss of time and maximum efficiency at workstations.
• Remove all packaging before presenting to designated locations
• Always maintain excellent housekeeping
