• Record shipping transactions in SAP and support warehouse accuracy.
• Load shipments into trucks by hand or with equipment.
• Complete receiving activities by breaking down skids and opening boxes.
• Verify incoming materials for type and quantity and maintain related files.
• Support raw material warehouse duties and continuous improvement initiatives.

STS Technical Services is hiring a Material Handler in Glendale, Wisconsin, to support shipping, receiving, inventory control and warehouse operations.

This role is designed for a dependable warehouse professional who can manage domestic and international shipments, complete cycle counts, maintain accurate inventory records and safely operate material handling equipment.

Position Overview

The Material Handler is responsible for supporting accurate and efficient shipping, receiving and inventory activities.

This position includes cycle counting, shipment preparation, receiving, put-away, SAP transactions and forklift operation while helping maintain quality and productivity standards throughout the warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Conduct error investigations to improve warehouse quality and accuracy


• Complete cycle counts to identify inventory discrepancies


• Perform domestic and international shipping and receiving activities


• Compare and verify shipment information against bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records


• Prepare required documentation for domestic and international shipments


• Maintain accurate shipping records


• Ensure complete and accurate shipment of production orders, stock products and custom products


• Verify box counts and shipment weights


• Report shipping-related issues to the supervisor


• Record shipping transactions accurately in SAP


• Load shipments into trucks by hand stacking or using equipment


• Complete receiving activities by breaking down skids and opening boxes


• Verify incoming materials for correct type and quantity


• Maintain related receiving files and records


• Route incoming materials to appropriate departments, storerooms or other locations


• Complete warehouse put-away activities


• Operate a forklift for picking and put-away activities


• Load and unload trucks using a forklift


• Support Raw Material Warehouse duties as needed


• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives


• Serve on ad hoc committees or teams as required


• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Previous warehouse experience


• Ability to follow standard operating procedures


• Self-motivated with a focus on quality and productivity


• Basic computer skills


• Experience with warehouse management systems such as SAP


• Ability to obtain forklift and other required equipment certifications


• Strong attention to detail


• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds


• Ability to push and pull up to 20 pounds


• Ability to climb up to 12 ladder rungs


• Ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the shift

Preferred Qualifications

• Shipping or finished goods warehouse experience
