Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a 1st shift Material Handler at the West Bend plant to maintain outbound shipment records, stock for stations, and support production.

Responsibilities include moving materials with a forklift, loading/unloading, ensuring safety, and contributing to a Lean Manufacturing environment in a fast-paced metal fabrication setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 2 years forklift experience ideally in a metal fabrication shop is preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience moving large metal objects.
• Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads, and moves materials within the plant or yard using appropriate equipment.
• Transfers materials to designated areas and positions them for storage or shipment.
• Operates forklift and other devices to move pallets, trays, and shelves.
• Occasionally operates industrial trucks or hoists as needed for loading.
• Completes daily forklift inspection and adheres to safety standards.
• Supports housekeeping and adherence to the 6S program within the plant.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.

Overview

The material handler will report to the Production Supervisor in the West Bend plant. This position is responsible for maintaining and verifying the records and documentation of outbound shipments from the lines and keeping stock for all stations within the department.

Seeking a 1st Shift Material Handler.

Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing any combination of following duties: Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using a forklift, hand truck, electric dolly, or other device.
• May occasionally operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Required to fill out an daily inspection before starting up the forklift
• Assists with routine or general housekeeping tasks as they relate to the plants 6s plan.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
