Job Title: Material Handler/Warehouse Worker

Location: Sandston, VA 23150

Pay Rate: $17.50 -18.00/hr. without benefits

Duration: 05+ months

Work Hours: General Shift Timing



Job Description:

• The Department is seeking a qualified Material Handler to select and stage products for customer orders, receive orders and put away products, control inventory, rotate stock, and perform general cleanup.

Required Qualifications:

• Previous work experience in a warehouse environment is required.


• Knowledge of distribution center procedures.


• Including storage, layout, and item identification; the ability to utilize voice picking and radio frequency (RF) handheld devices is required.


• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Skill in properly using material handling equipment (MHE), pallet jacks, standup end control riders (stackers), and forklifts.


• Experience with accurate product selection, palletization, and staging for outbound orders.


• Experience with receipt of inbound products.


• The ability to move and rotate products under standard operating procedures.


• The ability to conduct physical inventory counts; knowledge of warehouse safety regulations; and the ability to follow oral and written instructions.


• The ability to work as part of a team and individually without constant supervision.

Physical Requirements include:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, and climbing; repetitious grasping.


• Maneuvering MHE.


• Lifting and moving 75 - 100 lbs. regularly.


• Working in a warehouse setting including a freezer, in a hot and cold temperature.


• Exposure to fumes, dirt, dust, odors, and noise.
