At this exciting time in our company, ABC stone has an opportunity for an experienced Material Handler/Sample Room Coordinator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is dependable, is customer service driven and has a proven track record of meeting deadlines.

Role Description

Materials Handler I/Sample Room Coordinator loads and unloads material within the warehouse. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks and within the storage facility. In addition, as a Sample Coordinator you will ensure our library of samples is fully stocked and in pristine condition. You will also be responsible to mail out Samples to clients and communicate with our Sales team to ensure the needs of our clients.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Works under close direction of Warehouse Supervisor
• Utilize forklift, hoists or other handling equipment to move stone slabs & crates
• Perform a variety of warehouse duties such as: pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy and completeness, restock and label vendor products, maintain displays, move, store, and replenish material.
• Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
• Maintain a clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, etc.
• Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management.
• Perform other related duties as required

Samples Room Coordinator

• Inventory Management
• Sample Inventory Management
• Fulfilling sample requests by Sales Rep & Sample Dept. Manager
• Sending out samples requested by Clients (Transmittals)
• Coordinating with Sample Department Managers
• Office work (respond to emails & phone calls)
• Assisting Sales Reps & Managers with Samples
• Assist with cutting stone for Samples
• Use Forklift as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must have a great attitude
• Knowledge of commonly used practices & procedures within the stone industry (prior experience a plus)
• Ability to multitask in a timely and effective manner
• Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
• Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job
• At least 2 years of general work experience

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years related experience (a plus)

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and standing.
• Regularly required to stand, use hands and reach with hands and arms
• Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach above shoulder level, fine finger dexterity, climb & balance
• Ability to withstand indoor and outdoor environmental conditions (extreme temperatures and related conditions)

• Required vision abilities: peripheral, and ability to adjust focus
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
