Job summary

Job description

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening

• Minimum experience of six (6) months experience as Material Handler, Warehouse Helper, Truck Loader or Construction
• Prefer experience of six (6) months operating an overhead crane
• Must be able to pass forklift certification by Metals USA on 5k and 10k forklifts
• Candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Physical Demands:

Occupation requires physical activity more than 66% of the time (> 5.5 hours per day)

• Stand, walk, sit, handling/fingering, reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, squat or kneel or bend
• Lift, carry, push and/or pull 51 – 100 lbs. with assistance

Other Physical Requirements:

• Must wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Steel-toed boots or metatarsal boots
• Hard hats with chin strap; chin strap must be worn at all times while in the warehouse

• Hearing protection if required by the hearing conservation program

Metals USA has an immediate opening for a Material Handler/Loader - Night Shift (9pm - 5:30am) to load metal materials into a truck using an overhead crane in our Muskogee, OK facility. TheMaterial Handler/Loader, under limited supervision, performs duties related to the storage and movement of inventory or equipment; reports to lead material handler or group leader.

• Receives, places/returns items into stock inventory locations
• Tags material for proper identification
• Pulls and assembles customer orders in order of delivery
• Operates yard truck for the purpose of loading and unloading trailers
• Operates cranes to put up stock in bins or load/unload trailers
• Operates forklift (5k or 10k) to load/unload trailers
• Completes work order paperwork/documentation
• Restocks material
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
