Work schedule is 3pm - 1:20am, Monday through Thursday.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist Supervisor with daily operation of assigned work area.
  • Organize and assign work according to the production schedule.
  • Work with Production Manager and Supervisor on planning and production issues for the department.
  • Coordinate and assist in the training of current and new department employees.
  • Set up and adjust all lathes as required for lathe operators.
  • Operate all lathes in the lathe department as needed for production.
  • Improve cutting tool performance, repeatability and insert usage by working with Operators, Process Technicians, the Manufacturing Engineering Department and outside vendors.
  • Change tooling as needed.
  • Help solve machining problems related to production.
  • Inspect parts per print specifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in machining required. Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand basic math (including fractions and decimals).
  • Knowledge of CNC programming and ability to solve problems related to all CNC machines in the department. Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Good interpersonal skills and good communication skills. Ability to work with others in a positive manner.
  • Per 10 hr. shift (stand 5 hrs., walk 4 hrs., sit 1 hr.), frequently (balance, push/pull, bend, kneel, squat) and occasionally (reach above shoulder level).
  • Frequent lifting and carrying 0 to 50 lbs. (0 to 25 lbs. up to 20 - 25 times per day, 26 to 35 lbs. up to 15 - 20 times per day, and 36 to 50 lbs. up to 10 to 15 times per day).
  • Frequent climbing to step into lift truck.
  • Must be able to see, hear, have good binocular vision, distinguish colors, use feet to operate foot pedals, do simple and firm grasping with both hands.
  • Must be able to work in a moderately noisy environment that includes exposure to vibration from lift trucks, inside/outside temperature changes, occasional weld flash, dust, battery acid, paint and oil.
  • Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and safely work in areas of lift truck traffic.
