Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the reconditioning of heat exchange plates, ensuring their quality and readiness for shipment. This position involves a variety of tasks, from removing old rubber gaskets to packaging the finished product.

Responsibilities

• Recondition heat exchange plates, a thin piece of sheet metal with rubber gaskets attached.

• Remove old rubber gaskets either manually or by using liquid nitrogen.

• Power wash the plates to ensure cleanliness.

• Test plates for cracks or holes using a special material that reveals defects under a black light.

• Wash and dry the plates after testing.

• Glue new rubber gaskets onto the plates and transfer them into an oven to adhere the gaskets to the metal.

• Cool the plates off after the oven process.

• Prepare the plates for shipment.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing setting that features an open warehouse and a relaxed, laid-back team atmosphere. The environment is not climate controlled, and you will be part of a team of 12 employees who are either current or former employees. This is a first shift opportunity from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays. Dress code includes steel-toed boots and jeans, with safety glasses and gloves provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ankeny, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
