Description

Transferring products from inbound trucks to storage areas.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Store products by product and lot number using an industrial forklift or hand lift.
2. Work from written or verbal instructions.
3. Operate forklift to pick up, move, place, and position materials or products as required.
4. Perform routine servicing of equipment such as fueling, checking fluid levels, and tires; notify maintenance of major issues or repairs.
5. Prepare inventory reports and paperwork to monitor and account for inventory by lot and product number.
6. Handle ingredients safely, following company quality standards.
7. Communicate with shift managers to schedule deliveries and pick-ups.
8. Participate as a member of the team, supporting team concepts, programs, and policies, and attending team meetings.
9. Foster team cohesiveness and resolve issues collaboratively.
10. Support Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives, understanding the role of individual actions in maintaining these systems.
11. Perform other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Physical Activities

Work on feet for entire shift, lift or move products weighing up to 75 pounds (55 pounds for Dry Pet).

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Use eye protection, ear protection, steel-toed shoes as required.

Travel

Use company vehicles within a 60-mile radius.

Technical Experience

Basic computer skills; ability to pass and maintain forklift certification; knowledge of production scheduling is a plus.

Industry Experience

Experience in warehouse settings handling ingredients preferred.

Minimum Education

Ability to read, write, speak English, and perform basic math.

Preferred Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Competencies

Effective communication, decision-making, troubleshooting skills.
