Job description

Are you a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a team environment? Spectrum Metalcraft is seeking a dependable Material Handler to join our in-person team in Salina, KS. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth flow of materials through our facility and upholding the high-quality standards we’re known for.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality inspections of materials to ensure compliance with company and industry standards
  • Put away raw material upon receipt
  • Monitor inventory levels in collaboration with the inventory team
  • Review pick sheets and pull correct materials for customer orders
  • Support safety policies and ensure a clean, safe work environment
  • Assist in production tasks and facility maintenance
  • Provide support to receiving operations as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

This is an hourly position that requires working 40 hours per week Monday through Thursday with the possibility of Overtime if required on Friday.

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs independently if required
  • Forklift experience or certification preferred (but not required)
  • Experience operating an overhead crane preferred (but not required)
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read engineering drawings
  • Skilled in the use of multiple hand tools
  • Proficiency in reading tape measures and using calipers correctly

I further understand that my employment with Salina Vortex will have a sixty (60) days benefit waiting period, and further that at any time during the waiting period or thereafter, my employment relation with Salina Vortex is terminable at will for any reason by either party.
