Job summary

Weller Truck Parts in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Core Pull Material Handler to locate and move cores and other products using a forklift. You will dispatch and route yourself via the Engage system on a tablet to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely material delivery and maintain safe forklift operation.

You should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2+ years forklift experience, plus strong communication, time management, and the ability to operate the Engage tablet.

**Job Summary** The Core Pull Material Handler is responsible for locating and moving cores as well as other products throughout the facility using a forklift. This position will also be responsible for utilizing the Engage system on a tablet to dispatch and route themselves throughout the facility to ensure accurate, efficient and timely delivery of cores. At all times, the Core Pull Material Handler is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift.**Roles and Responsibilities*** Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.* Loads and unloads materials using the forklift, safely moves items, and ensures accurate, efficient, and timely delivery.* Manages product location by accurately identifying and retrieving products within the warehouse.* Conducts daily inspections of the forklift to verify operational integrity and promptly reports any concerns to the team leader.* Dispatches himself/herself and routes themselves throughout the facility, based on remanufacturing needs, to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely delivery of material by using the mobile Engage system on a tablet.* Operates overhead hoists with precision to facilitate the movement of heavy materials.* Actively participates in 5S practices to promote a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.* Regular, predictable, and full attendance is an essential function of this position.* Performs other duties as assigned.**Qualifications and Education Requirements*** High School Diploma or equivalent is required.* 2 + years' relevant forklift experience is required.* Excellent written, verbal communication, time management and organizational skills are required.* Ability to read, interpret and operate the mobile Engage system on a tablet is required.**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities*** Ability to demonstrate a high degree of organization.* Ability to demonstrate exceptional communication skills.* Must have strong time management skills.* Ability to remain calm under stressful situations.* Must have a high attention to detail.**Physical Requirements*** Prolonged periods of standing and sitting, depending on assigned forklift.* Must be an active listener and able to communicate in a clear and precise manner on an ongoing basis to ensure that others will understand.* Ability to bend, twist, and climb onto or off a forklift throughout an 8–10-hour shift.* Occasionally pushing and pulling 50+ lbs.* Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.* Works in a manufacturing environment that may have fluctuating temperatures. **Pay Range** Starting at $19.00 per hour, with higher starting pay available based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
