POSTION TITLE: MATERIAL HANDLER / RECEIVER

DEPARTMENT: Logistics

REPORTS TO: Manager, Warehouse

HOURS/SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm

*overtime available during high product demand times

HOURLY/SALARY STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt

POSITION OVERIVEW:

The Material Handler is responsible for moving materials to support production needs. Additionally, the Material Handler ensures inventory is accurate in the inventory management system as well as in the physical location.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Load product onto delivery vehicles for transportation between facilities
• Assist unloading incoming deliveries
• Receive incoming shipments and distribute throughout facility
• Anticipate needs and stage work in advance when possible
• Scan internally produced parts and relocate to appropriate designated areas
• Part replenishment in picking and storage areas
• Keep materials neat and accessible and inventory counts accurate
• Assist in banding, strapping and/or wrapping materials
• Support 6S efforts and participate in idea implementation initiatives with team

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Fork truck operators license, permit or the ability to obtain one

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Lift, carry, push and/or pull 1-50 lbs. frequently
• Ability to stand/walk up to 10 hours per day
• Ability to bend, squat, crawl, climb or reach frequently throughout the day
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
