Shift: 1st Shift, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Starting Pay:
- Material Handler I: $16.57/hr. - $20.00/hr.
- Material Handler II: $18.39/hr. - $22.00/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, coordinate with carriers and suppliers, track shipments, verify shipping accuracy, and ensure timely delivery.
- Handle inventory updates, communicate with customers regarding shipment statuses, and maintain records of all shipping activities.
- Read information from various documents and locate parts in the warehouse.
- Operate forklifts, Raymond, or hoists to move or deliver parts and containers.
- Count or weigh parts using scales.
- Use a computer to check location, inventory, and routing/ordering of parts.
- Perform routine maintenance on forklifts, such as filling propane tanks, checking and adding engine oil, and cleaning radiators.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 0-3 years of experience for Material Handler I; 3+ years for Material Handler II.
- Prior forklift experience and/or certification preferred.
- Basic reading, clerical, and math skills, with the ability to understand instructions and perform calculations.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing plant conditions (indoor, variable temperature, noise, dirt).
- Limited outdoor exposure for parts handling and forklift fueling.
- Physical hazards include powered vehicles, overhead storage, and handling hazardous materials.
- Variable work schedule with overtime and some Saturday work.
- Expected to work at least 50% of the extra time (ET).
Physical Requirements:
- Handle items up to 60 pounds regularly.
- Pull or push items up to 50 pounds.
- Lift items up to 35 pounds from knuckle to shoulder and 25 pounds from shoulder to overhead.
- Frequent standing, sitting, bending, climbing, and elevated work; occasional twisting, squatting, kneeling.
