Job summary

Kimball International in Danville, KY is seeking a Material Handler to ensure accurate counts and quality of parts per Shop Order Release specifications. You will inspect parts for quantities, damage, color, alignment, and workmanship, and document results while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

You will also perform basic preventive maintenance, follow lockout and PPE guidelines, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in material handling, inventory or shipping/receiving.
• Ability to lift parts from floor to operation level frequently.
• Skilled in use of air driven hand tools.
• Able to set up forms/fixtures to specifications.
• Knowledge of lockout procedures and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Verify counts per Shop Order Release (SOR) specification.
• Inspect parts for quantities per SOR specifications.
• Inspect for obvious damage, color consistency and alignment or any other workmanship standards.
• Document necessary information.
• Keep work space and equipment clean and well organized.
• Perform proper preventive maintenance as required on equipment.
• Follow all safety guidelines and uses required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Identify nonconformities and follow nonconforming product procedures and be aware of disposition authority.
• Implement process improvements.
• Support the Vision and Guiding Principles and other policies of Kimball International and National Office Furniture.
