Job summary

Great Kitchens Food Company in Romeoville, IL, is seeking a Production Material Handler to support the production line by supplying raw and dry materials, setting up equipment, and maintaining accurate records. You will follow GMPs and wear proper PPE to ensure food safety and product quality.

Responsibilities include palletizing, labeling, and moving pallets, logging materials, and maintaining a clean, compliant work area in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Bilingual-English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up sauce pump equipment.
• Supply raw and dry materials to production lines.
• Maintain minimum materials required by production.
• Keep records and log material usage for production.
• Return materials with accurate numbers (weight) per food safety guidance.
• Be at your workstation on time.
• Follow company GMPs.
• Wear proper PPE (knit, cotton, or blue plastic gloves).
• Use good wood pallets and do not step on pallet.
• Ensure correct label is being applied (SKU).
• Palletize cases based on BOM requirements.
• Fill out pallet tag and keep copies.
• Wrap pallet with shrink wrap (4 times at waist level).
• Move finished pallet using pallet jack to pickup location.
• Assist in replacing label and ribbon.
• Remove bad pallets from circulation.
• Maintain area clean and organized.
• Inform Line Lead if you must leave line.
• Ensure compliance with Production/Packaging procedures and address issues.
• Able to work in other areas as needed.
• Ensure quality and consistency of product during processing.
• Maintain line speed/standards.
• Uphold food safety and legality; adhere to BRC Global Standard Food Safety Issue 9.

Position Purpose

Applies basic skill and is oriented with equipment and work area. Performs duties and tasks routinely. Adapts techniques to meet special needs.

Key Accountabilities

Applies basic skills to ensure that product meet company specifications. Training program will include how training will occur and the exit criteria will verify skill requirements which could include results of the exit criteria to prove comprehension. This could be in the form of written, verbal and/or demonstration for compliance.

• Inform Line Lead any time you must leave line.
• Ensures compliance with Production/Packaging procedure/practices as well as inspecting all areas within the Mfg line for any operational and/or mechanical issues as well as taking corrective action and/or notifying supervision and/or management.
• Expected to work in other areas as needed.
• Ensure quality and consistency of product during processing.
• Maintain line speed/standards
• This position is also responsible for food safety and legality.
• Responsible for upholding, following and maintaining the requirements of the BRC Global Standard Food Safety Issue 9.
• Other duties as may be assigned or volunteered for.

Required

Education, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency Level

• HS Diploma or GED
• Three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
