Material Handler - Plastics Division 2nd shift

Material Handler 2nd shift 3pm - 1:20am (Mon.-Thursday)
Training will occur on 1st shift 5am - 3pm Mon- Thur. for up to 4 weeks.
Job Description
  • Placing and retrieving products from appropriately designated areas via forklift and other material handling equipment throughout facilities to ensure that production and customer needs are met.
  • May involve the receipt of incoming material/product, and may load and unload trucks.
  • Skilled in reading and implementing work instructions and/or shipping documents.
  • May measure, weigh, blend, mark, label, count, track, record, inspect, package, and palletize a wide variety of products or materials.
  • Checks forklift and other equipment periodically for proper operation and may perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Inspects for quality, defects, and deviations from specifications.
  • Responsible for quality of work and appropriately resolving unusual operating conditions.
  • Routinely drives a fork truck.
  • May assemble, pack, and/or package a wide variety of products or materials.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
  • Typically requires : A High School Diploma or equivalent, read and understand work Instructions, computer experience, independent decision making, and effective self-management.

Minimum Education: Reading and understanding work instructions
Preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum Skills/Experience: Effective computer use. Basic Math skills. 6 months of fork truck experience. independent decision-making, and effective self-management.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Above plus - 1-year forklift experience in a warehouse setting, strong Computer, and math skills

Functional Requirements
  • Manually lift and move product and materials up to 55 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reaching forward, reaching overhead, lifting, carrying, crouching, and bending
  • Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering fork truck
  • Walk, sit, or stand for up to 10 hours with intermittent breaks
  • Push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • See, inspect, handle, and evaluate product quality
  • Read and understand written English language work instructions
  • Work in non-climate controlled environments, including hot and humid conditions
  • Climb ladders and stairs of varying heights
  • Wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by LSI

    • Gloves
    • Additional PPE as required for specific tasks
