Job description

This is a 2nd shift position, Monday - Thursday 3pm - 1:20am with OT as required on Friday and/or Saturday.

Training on 1st shift (5am - 3:20pm) will be required for up to 4 weeks.

Position Summary

The Material Handler plays a key role in supporting production operations by ensuring timely and accurate preparation, transportation, and tracking of raw materials. This position is essential to maintaining an efficient manufacturing workflow and ensuring inventory integrity.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Places and retrieves product from appropriately designated areas via forklift and other material handling equipment throughout facilities to ensure that production and customer needs are met.
  • May involve receipt of incoming material/product and may load and unload trucks.
  • Prevents contamination of material during mixing and the whole process of staging to return.
  • Conducts routine inspections of the forklift and related equipment to ensure proper functionality; performs basic maintenance and cleaning as needed.
  • Skilled in reading, understanding work instructions and following BOM (Bill of Material) in preparing materials with correct colorant, additives, allowable regrind, setting dryers, and doing moisture check.
  • Proficient in general computer use for performing material handling tasks, including looking up, moving, receiving, and processing all related transactions within inventory and warehouse management systems.
  • May measure, weigh, mark, label, count, blend, track, record, inspect, package and palletize a wide variety of products or materials.
  • Cleans all material handling equipment thoroughly to prevent contamination.
  • Monitors material equipment so that it's set correctly and working properly. Fix all minor issues, cleaning of filters, hose replacement and other. Fills out maintenance work orders when fix is out of the scope of material handling.
  • Keeps warehouse and cleaning room swept and organized.
  • Responsible for quality of work and to appropriately resolve unusual operating conditions.
  • Willingly modifies work schedule and duties to accommodate Company needs.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • May require successful completion of specific education, training or certifications.
Functional Requirements
Consistently able to:
  • Manually lift and move product and materials up to 55 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch, and bend
  • Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering fork truck
  • Walk, sit, or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks
  • Push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • See, inspect, handle and evaluate product quality
  • Read and understand written English language work instructions
  • Work in non-climate controlled environments, including hot and humid conditions
  • Climb ladders and stairs of varying heights
  • Wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by LSI
