Job summary

SUNBELT SOLOMON SERVICES LLC is seeking a Material Handler - Parts Room to move, store, and manage materials for production lines and shop supplies. You will support the supply chain by ensuring materials are available when needed and shipments meet quality standards.

Key duties include pulling orders from inventory, locating materials, stocking in-process inventory, and preparing finished stock for shipment. The role may operate forklifts and requires keeping work areas clean and orderly.

Qualifications

• Experience with inventory management and cycle counts.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Knowledge of Syspro and Traild Accounting Software.

Responsibilities

• Pull orders from inventory and deliver production materials.
• Locate materials and verify with work orders.
• Maintain in-process inventory by stocking materials and supplies.
• Prepare finished stock for shipment by packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment, or signal operators.
• Keep inventory and loading areas clean.
• Receive and inspect incoming materials for quality and quantity.
• Verify inventory against counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Store items in warehouses, tool rooms, or other areas.
• Mark inventory with identification tags or labels.
• Occasionally handle documentation of sales orders and shipping orders.
• Maintain inventory transactions and perform cycle counts.
• Assist with inventory control and audits.
• Serve as back-up purchasing agent.
• Identify parts and accessories; assist department with oversight.
• Work with vendors; gather quotations when needed.
• Advanced knowledge of Syspro; allocate parts to jobs.
• Knowledge of Traild Accounting Software; reconcile POs and invoices.

Material Handler - Parts Room (Transportation)

The Material Handler - Parts isresponsible for moving, storing, and managing various materials for product lines and shop supplies.They play a key role in the supply chain and logistics, ensuring that products are available to the team when needed and that shipments are on time and meet quality standards. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role.

• Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed.
• Locates materials and supplies; may pull and verify materials with work order.
• Maintains in-process inventory by opening and stocking materials and supplies. Delivering if necessary.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
• May operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials.
• Keeps inventory and loading areas clean.
• Receive and inspect incoming materials and products for quality, quantity, and accuracy of shipment.
• Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
• Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
• Mark inventory with identification tags or other labeling equipment.
• Occasionally handle documentation of sales orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
• Maintain inventory transactions and perform cycle counts to ensure accuracy of stock levels.
• Assist with inventory control and audits as needed.
• Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
• Other assigned duties as needed.
• Serve as back-up purchasing agent.
• Accurately identify a majority of new or used product line parts and accessories. Ability to assist department with little oversight.
• Ability to work with vendors.
• Gather quotations if needed.
• Advanced knowledge of Syspro system; firm understanding of allocating parts to jobs and technical expertise.
• Knowledge of Traild Accounting Software. Reconciling purchase orders and auditing payment. Follow up on past due invoices.
