Job summary

Alamo Group in Seguin, TX seeks a Warehouse Associate to prep parts for the powder coat line and manage inventory. You will prioritize work orders, read schedules, and coordinate with supervisors to expedite filling requests for parts.

Responsibilities include picking, packing, labeling, data entry with RF Gun, and assisting in loading shipments. Requires 3–6 months in manufacturing or warehousing and the ability to operate order pickers and forklifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–6 months experience in manufacturing, paint line, or warehouse material handling.

Responsibilities

• Mask and prep parts before powder coat line.
• Picks/pulls sales orders, work orders, and engineering orders from various locations.
• Record material usage by entering transactions via RF Gun or desktop computer.
• Pack customer orders for small package or LTL shipments following packing procedures.
• Process shipments using logistics software for LTL shipments.
• Label sales orders and work orders accurately.
• Access information or verify data using RF Gun or desktop computer.
• Notify planners or supervisors of shortages in material.
• Assist in packing/loading of goods.
• Assist in put-away from receiving area using RF Gun or desktop computer.
• Count quantities using weight counting equipment for distribution.

Job description

Position Summary:

Works under general supervision to prep all parts prior to entering the powder coat line, prioritize work orders and coordinates with supervisors to expedite filling requests for parts. Performs any combination of the following tasks to receive and/or store parts and materials for manufacturing operations; reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed. Maintains accuracy of inventory. May be assigned to one particular work center or various work centers.

Essential Functions of the Job:

1. Masks and plug all necessary areas of parts before the enter in to the powder coat paint line.

2. Picks/Pulls customers sales orders, manufacturing work orders, and engineering work orders from various warehouse and plant locations

3. Records amount of material/components consumed on sales orders and/or work orders by accurately keying transactions into RF Smart via RF Gun or desk top computer.

4. Packs customers sales orders either for small package or LTL shipment following all packing procedures implemented as distribution packaging requirements at the time of the shipment.

5. May process shipments via small software or logistics software for LTL shipments.

6. Accurately labels all sales orders and/or work orders.

7. Uses RF Gun and/or desk top computer to access information or verify data.

8. Follows up any inaccuracies or discrepancies and coordinates with proper personnel.

9. Notifies production planners or supervisor of shortages in material required to complete any order.

10. May assist in packing and loading of whole good product.

11. Assist in put-a-way process from receiving area using RF Gun or desk top computer to ensure all material/components are delivered to proper facility stocking location.

12. Required to use weight counting equipment to count higher quantities for distribution to manufacturing work orders or customer sales orders.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

1. Problem solving skills.

2. Ability to operate Order Picker, Reach Truck, and Sit Down Forklift,

3. Basic math skills and computer data entry skills.

4. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

5. Required to operate sit down, reach truck, and order pickers forklifts.

Education:

1. High school diploma or GED required.

2. 3 to 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment, paint line, or warehouse material handling required.

Working Conditions:

1. Ability to lift, push or pull up to 35 pounds alone and greater than 35 pounds with assistance.

2. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8+ hours) as required by tasks being completed.

3. Ability to wear appropriate PPE, including hearing/eye protection, gloves and safety shoes.

4. Must be able to work overtime as needed to complete job assignments.

5. Ability to work in a non-climate controlled manufacturing plant environment.

6. Must be able to work in confined spaces.

7. Must be able to tolerate heights.

8. Frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching and climbing as required by tasks being completed.
