Job summary

DSV - Global Transport and Logistics is seeking a Material Handler - Packer/Blender Technician to support SBC packing and blending operations at the Pass Christian facility. Responsibilities

  • Operate SBC packing operations per established procedures and production requirements.
  • Perform blending duties for Dry and Wet blend operations following area SOPs.
  • Support Chemours bulk operations as needed.
  • Inspect SBC bags for defects and ensure correct labeling and documentation.
  • Maintain organized work area and comply with safety and housekeeping rules.
  • Operate forklift and other power equipment with certification in a safe manner.
  • Assist in inventory counts and sampling per schedule and SOPs.
  • Report safety hazards and quality variances to supervision.

Position Summary

The SBC Packing-Blending Technician is responsible for SBC Packing and Blending, operating process equipment, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery & equipment. The candidate must have knowledge of general safety procedures and be able to communicate effectively with team members. This position is expected to uphold and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety and work rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards. This individual is also responsible for counting and inspecting products and notifying leadership when there are damages or discrepancies. These associates are accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and will be expected to perform all duties as assigned. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality and to comply with all corporate and site‑specific policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • SBC Packing Operations:
    • Perform SBC packing operations in accordance with established procedures and production requirements.
    • Efficiently produce filled SBC product in accordance with visual standards.
    • Perform Flushout/Grade Changes in accordance with production requirements.
    • Maintain an organized work area.
  • Reblend Operations:
    • Perform blending duties for Dry Blend and Wet Blend operations following all area SJP.
    • Follow blend back campaigns as communicated from Supervisor.
    • Prepare emptied bags and discard consumed raw materials during blending.
    • Maintain an organized work area.
  • Bulk Operations:
    • Perform support duties and tasks for Chemours Bulk Operations.
  • Quality & Compliance:
    • Inspect all SBC bags prior to hanging for defects and contamination.
    • Maintain accurate and legible documentation following area SJP.
    • Ensure accurate application of all labeling and barcodes on bags during filling process.
    • Follow area SJP for SBC Packing and ensure compliance with all visual standards for tray appearance guidelines.
    • Report on all quality variances.
  • Equipment Inspections:
    • Inspect all process equipment prior to operation.
    • Inspect blending equipment and product screens prior to blending.
    • Ensure metal detector operation (Record LPN).
    • Inspect fill tube hoses.
    • Inspect scale for product underneath (which could affect weight accuracy).
    • Proper documentation and reporting of any issues found during inspections.
  • Inventory & Sampling:
    • Complete SBC sampling to ensure product quality following sample schedule recipe.
    • Ensure accurate labeling of all SBC product samples.
    • Assist in physical inventories for raw materials and ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance:
    • Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area and assist in security of the warehouse/production area.
    • Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
    • Ensure compliance with all DSV Housekeeping and 5s+ policies and procedures.
    • Participate in safety meetings.
    • Report all safety hazards immediately to supervision.
  • Equipment Operation:
    • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, drum attachment, or other power equipment.
    • Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
    • On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
    • Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods.
    • Maintain an active forklift certification.
  • Maintenance:
    • Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Other Duties (Site Specific):
    • Change fuel tanks on forklifts as needed and participate in physical inventories; perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as required.
    • Repair pallets, trailers, and truck bays as requested.
    • Help maintain the facility to provide a clean, safe work environment.
    • Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Education and/or Experience:
    • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
    • 6 months experience working in a logistics/distribution/manufacturing/relevant environment.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations:
    • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program (where applicable).
  • Computer Skills:
    • Basic computer skills.
  • SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
    • Basic computer skills.
    • RF Scanners.
    • WMS functions.
  • Language Skills:
    • English (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Mathematical Skills:
    • Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, packaging, and distributing client products.

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.
    • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
    • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
    • Adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast‑paced work environment.
    • Perform all relevant duties and responsibilities with accuracy and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
  • 1-2 years forklift experience (where applicable).
  • Minimum 1-year experience in SBC Packing & Reblend Operations.
  • Current or prior MHE certification (where applicable).
Physical Demands
  • Working hours: up to 33% of the time up to 2.5+ hrs/day, 33%-66% up to 5.5+ hrs/day, more than 66% more than 5.5+ hrs/day.
  • Actions: bend, climb, crawl, handle/fingering, sit, stand, walk, lift/carry up to 55 lbs, reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat or kneel, push/pull up to 55 lbs.
