Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a reliable Packaging Material Handler to join our operations team in Pelzer, South Carolina. In this role, you will operate forklifts to move, store, and distribute materials and products, ensuring materials are available where and when needed to support manufacturing.

You will monitor material movement with scanners, assist with receiving and stocking, and help prepare kits for production. Strong attention to detail and safety are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing setting.
• Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks; certification a plus.
• Basic computer or scanner literacy for inventory tracking.

Responsibilities

• Move materials and components within the facility using forklifts and jacks.

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Packaging Material Handler to join our operations team. In this essential role, you will utilize a Forklift to move, store, and distribute materials and products within the facility. You'll support manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are available where and when they are needed, helping keep our production running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Material Movement: Transport materials and components to and from workstations, storage areas, or loading docks using FORKLIFTS, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
• Inventory Control: Track material movement using scanners or inventory management systems; report discrepancies or shortages.
• Receiving & Stocking: Assist with receiving incoming shipments, checking for accuracy, and stocking materials in designated locations.
• Kitting & Staging: Prepare materials or kits for production based on work orders or pick lists.
• Load & Unload: Safely load and unload trucks and containers as needed.
• Safety & Housekeeping: Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
• Team Collaboration: Communicate with production, shipping, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate and timely material flow.
• Track outbound shipments from preparation through shipment.
• Pack shipments that adhere to the work instructions provided.
• Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and computer proficiency.

What You Bring

• Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks (certification a plus).
• Basic computer or scanner knowledge for inventory tracking.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a warehouse or manufacturing setting where safety equipment is required. This position may require standing, lifting, walking, bending, and operating equipment throughout the shift. Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed. There is NO climate-control. Only fans. No air-conditioning.
