Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Millington, TN is seeking a Material Handler/Operator I to support warehouse operations. You will perform manual handling, pick and move inventory, and help with receiving, storing and distributing materials in a safe, efficient manner.

Responsibilities include sorting items, preparing orders, operating equipment (including forklift when certified), maintaining accurate records, and assisting with maintenance tasks to keep the warehouse organized and productive.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift certification typically required within 3–6 months.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate basic tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, collaborating and communicating clearly while supporting operations.
  • Perform manual labor: pick inventory, count cargo, stage and load goods with hand trucks or pallet jacks.
  • Coordinate receipt, storage and distribution of materials within the area and prepare/assemble orders.
  • Sort and place materials on racks/pallets according to size, type, and code; operate forklift when certified.
  • Complete forms and labels to ensure inventory accuracy; assist with maintenance and housekeeping tasks.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
  • Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times, such as working collaboratively, providing timely communication and instruction and assisting with operations as necessary.
  • Execute various manual labor functions such as picking inventory, counting cargo, product and material and handstagingand loading goods;equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack.
  • Coordinate receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, tools, equipment, and products within assigned area.Prepare and assemble orders, move materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Manage sorting and placement of materials or items on racks, shelves, pallets or in bins according to predeterminedsequencesuch as size, type, style, color, productcodeand related characteristics; tend to be more routine or typical.
  • Opportunity tooperatea forklift once certified andrequired.
  • Complete or verifyappropriate forms, documents, labels and other information to ensure the accuracy of inventory,monitorand track material and successful receiving and/or delivery of goods; tends to be basic information or standard in nature.
  • Operate hand tools to close or open bales,buildor tear down crates, and other containers or material; tends to be morepredictablepackaging.
  • Assistwithidentifyingpotential operational or service concerns,notifyappropriate co-workersandassistwith resolving.
  • Monitorvarious warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, cleaning docks, staging, packing, racking and related storage areas, proper storingequipment, basic preventativemaintenanceand related tasks.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • Education and Experience:High School Diploma or GED;
  • Credentials:Forklift Certification typicallyrequiredin most operations within 3 to 6 months of hire; Valid state issued driver’s license preferred.
  • Skills:Capable of operating hand and power tools and performing manual tasks, ability tofrequentlyliftand/ ormoveupto fifty (50) pounds; Basicproficiencyinoperatinga computer; Ability to become forklift certified, when required.
  • Characteristics:Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs; Ability to perform in a team environment. Ability to read,comprehendand complete basic checklists,formsor other related documents
