Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Groveport, OH is seeking a Material Handler/Operator I to join our warehouse team. You will perform essential material handling tasks, operate equipment safely, and support efficient inventory processes in a clean, organized facility.

The role includes forklift operations (upon certification), counting and sorting inventory, loading/unloading, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of goods.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED
  • Credentials: Forklift Certification typically required in most operations within 3 to 6 months of hire; Valid state issued driver’s license preferred
  • Skills: Capable of operating hand and power tools and performing manual tasks; Basic proficiency in operating a computer; Ability to become forklift certified, when required
  • Characteristics: Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs; Ability to perform in a team environment. Ability to read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents

Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times
  • Execute various manual labor functions such as picking inventory, counting cargo, product and material and handstaging and loading goods; use manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack
  • Coordinate receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, tools, equipment, and products within assigned area
  • Prepare and assemble orders, move materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas
  • Monitor inventory and ensure accurate receiving and delivery of goods; maintain proper labeling and documentation
  • Operate hand tools to close or open crates and packaging
  • Assist with identifying potential operational or service concerns and resolve with co-workers

YOUR ROLE

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times, such as working collaboratively, providing timely communication and instruction and assisting with operations as necessary.

Execute various manual labor functions such as picking inventory, counting cargo, product and material and handstagingand loading goods; use manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack.

Coordinate receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, tools, equipment, and products within assigned area. Prepare and assemble orders, move materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.

Manage sorting and placement of materials or items on racks, shelves, pallets or in bins according to predeterminedsequencesuch as size, type, style, color, productcodeand related characteristics; tend to be more routine or typical.

Opportunity tooperatea forklift once certified andrequired.

Complete or verifyappropriate forms, documents,labelsand other information to ensure the accuracy of inventory,monitorand track material and successful receiving and/or delivery of goods; tends to be basic information or standard in nature.

Operate hand tools to close or open bales,buildor tear down crates, and other containers or material; tends to be morepredictablepackaging.

Assistwithidentifyingpotential operational or service concerns,notifyappropriate co-workersandassistwith resolving.

Monitor various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, cleaning docks, staging, packing, racking andrelated storage areas, proper storingequipment, basic preventativemaintenance,and related tasks.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
