Position Summary
The Material Handler may operate forklifts, load trucks, unload and receive parts, pull stock, drive Yard Dogs, clean parts, assemble products or kits, and generally clean the work area.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Shipping/Receiving: Receive inbound inventory, place material into storage, pull inventory from storage to fill customer orders, and load material on trucks and trailers for outbound shipment.
- Material Handling: Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, cranes or other material handling equipment to move material to/from trucks or trailer and within the premises.
- Parts Cleaning/Assembly: Clean parts using hand/pedestal grinders or other metal finishing equipment, and utilize material handling equipment to move material.
- Provide error-free work to all internal and external customers related to their output.
- Work under direct supervision.
- Support safety and quality programs by following all rules and established processes.
- Mixing Paints.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Simple problem-solving skills.
- Ability to mix paints, preferred.
- Ability to use a conventional & airless paint gun.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to operate forklift and cranes.
- Ability to use various hand tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder, bander.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Knowledge of common practices and procedures, relying on instructions and guidelines.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers (preferred).
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
