Job summary

WebstaurantStore is seeking a Material Handler to unload, check in, stock, pick, pack, and ship inventory in our warehouse. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, use our ERP system, and ensure accuracy and efficiency in inbound and outbound operations.

No degree is required; prior warehouse experience is helpful. You will join a team focused on safety, quality, and excellent customer service, with opportunities to grow in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

Experience in a distribution/warehouse setting preferred.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and order pickers.

Responsibilities

Unload deliveries from trailers using forklift equipment or by hand.
Receive inventory via ERP and place in storage racking.
Move pallets to organize receiving dock and other areas.
Scan and place inventory in racks using handheld devices.
Prepare customer orders for shipment and pack securely.
Operate warehouse equipment following safety protocols.
Maintain clean, safe work environment and meet daily targets.
Flex into other positions as needed to support operations.

Job description

Job Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for unloading, checking in, stocking, picking, consolidating, packing, and shipping inventory in the warehouse. These tasks must be completed to an efficient and accurate standard to ensure smooth inbound and outbound operations. This position requires the use of our internal warehouse systems and various warehouse equipment, which may include Powered Industrial Trucks.

Responsibilities

Unload live domestic deliveries from trailers using forklift equipment, or unload import containers by hand
Use our ERP system to systematically receive inventory accurately and efficiently, ready to be placed in storage racking
Move palletized product using pallet jacks/forklift equipment to organize the receiving dock, or transport product to other areas of the Distribution Center
Scan and place inventory in racking locations using forklift equipment and a handheld scanning device, ready for warehouse operations
Retrieve items from racking accurately and efficiently, using handheld scanning devices and ERP system, completed on foot or using forklift equipment
Sort and consolidate picked items using handheld scanning devices, preparing customer orders for shipment processing
Pack products accurately and securely using our internal SPS system, focusing on providing an excellent customer experience
Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standards
Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy, and quality of work
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership
Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
Abide by all company and warehouse policies
Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation

Physical Requirements

Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

Experience

Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, order pickers, etc.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence
Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations

Education
