Job summary

Tate in Abingdon, VA is seeking a Material Handler to ensure smooth production by moving materials, receiving inbound goods, and maintaining inventory accuracy.

This full-time, non-exempt role requires 2+ years of warehouse experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, forklift operation, and basic math; commitment to safety and documentation. You will collaborate with multiple departments and uphold SOPs and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years warehouse and shipping experience required.
• Basic math skills are required.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Able to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Must operate Forklift and Combi-Lift.
• Must have current and valid Driver’s License.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Familiarity with MAPICS or other in-house systems.

Responsibilities

• Move materials safely and efficiently using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand carts.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels by counting and reconciling discrepancies.
• Receive, verify, and store incoming materials; organize for easy retrieval.
• Fulfill production orders by picking materials and delivering to production areas.
• Inspect materials for damage and report issues.
• Maintain records of material transactions and update inventory systems.
