Must Have Pneumatic/hydraulic Schematics Experience
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Material Handler Maintenance Technician to support both the maintenance and material handling functions within our facility. This dual-role position is responsible for operating, testing, maintaining, and calibrating a wide range of electro-mechanical equipment—including forklifts and other auxiliary machinery.
The goal is to reduce downtime and ensure smooth, efficient production operations.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical and electrical experience, be proficient in reading schematics and blueprints, and possess strong troubleshooting abilities. A working knowledge of computerized maintenance systems (CMMS), safety protocols, and general plant operations is essential.
Maintenance Duties
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Maintain and repair production and auxiliary equipment, including motors and variable speed drives.
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Use CMMS to manage work orders and inventory.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Install and modify existing and new equipment as needed.
- Supervise or coordinate with outside contractors when necessary.
- Ensure all work adheres to OSHA, NEC, and NFPA 70E safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment; follow housekeeping protocols.
Material Handling Duties
- Operate and maintain forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and manage material flow within the facility.
- Ensure timely supply and removal of raw materials per production schedules.
- Support overall plant logistics by aligning material availability with operational needs.
General Duties
- Model and promote safe work practices, including proper use of PPE and LOTO procedures.
- Be flexible to work overtime or weekends, as required.
- Perform additional duties, including occasional custodial or general facility support tasks.
Requirements/Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Proficient with electrical circuits, wiring diagrams, pneumatic/hydraulic schematics
- Experience using hand tools, digital multimeters, welding equipment, and other test instruments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with urgency and minimal supervision
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel)
Preferred
- Associate’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technology
- Valid forklift operator certification
- Experience with fabrication (welding, cutting, drilling, grinding)
