Material Handler - Light Manufacturing - Building Materials - 7:30AM - 4PM

Position Summary

The person in this position is responsible for banding material and preparing it for staging, which may involve the use of hand and electric tools.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4pm

Pay: $17/hour with full benefits at 60 days and opportunity for production bonuses.

Essential Responsibilities

• Bands material, safely using equipment provided, to secure materials for shipment.
• Labels banded carts ensuring accuracy of units, destination, handler, etc.
• Cleans up work area, sweeping, rebinding loose bundles, etc., to ensure readiness for second shift.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

• Ability to perform all essential functions, including physical requirements.
• Ability to physically handle awkward product lengths and lift weights up to 50 lbs without assistance.
• Basic math skills, interpersonal/team skills, and reasoning skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

• 100%: Standing, handling or feeling, squeezing or grasping.
• 80%: Reaching with hands and arms, depth perception.
• 50%: Walking, repetitive motion, operating moving equipment.
• 10%: Working bent at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting.
• Lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
• Lifting, pushing, or pulling 75-100 lbs. with assistance.
