OXCO, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to safely operate equipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Candidates should have at least 1 year experience in forklift operations and possess strong attention to detail. As a material handler, you are responsible for safely operating powered industrial trucks (PIT) to move goods and products around the warehouse and production areas. Material handlers are responsible for the safe and proper handling and movement of all inbound and outbound materials and accurately recording and processing orders in and out of the warehouse. Additionally, the material handler is responsible for multiple tasks in shipping, receiving, production and the warehouse.
Functions/Responsibilities
Conduct, behavior and actions in accordance with Oxco’s Valued Colleague Pledge
Perform and document daily forklift (PIT) and equipment inspections
Quality inspection of incoming/outgoing and finished orders
Unload and load trucks using forklift, pallet jacks or manually as needed
Use bar code scanner to properly record storage locations
Utilize computerized warehouse management systems (WMS), radio frequency (RF) scanners and barcodes to process customer orders, production orders, receive product and relocate items throughout the warehouse
Records essential product information and assigns lot number to all finished goods and identifies packaged items by tagging/marking them so that they maintain visibility throughout the warehouse
Pick orders to be processed in production and packaging of completed orders to be processed in shipping
Consolidates and stores raw and finished goods in their proper locations and safely store material and supplies
Perform cycle counts on raw and / or finished inventory and participate in all scheduled physical inventories
Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the production, warehouse and working areas including the outside perimeter of the building around docks, common areas and landscaping and participates in housekeeping responsibilities
Identifies packaging instructions on production orders and packages finished items to meet customer requirements
Assist in the training of new employees as directed by leadership team
Identify and communicate any safety concerns and report any property damage
Flexibility to train and work in multiple areas
Raise any issues or concerns that arise day to day work to the Supervisor, Department Manager, Plant Manager, or President
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education: High School or GED
Experience: 1 year of experience in warehouse environment in forklift operations
Forklift roll and box clamp experience preferred
License or Certification:
Skills:
- High attention to detail – accuracy in entering data and in communicating information with others; ability to see errors and identify inconsistencies
- Collaboration – work effectively with other personnel to achieve established outcomes and resolve issues
- Dependability - consistent attendance is required and rewarded
Must be able to perform tasks that require frequent movement and mobility throughout the shift. Must be able to reach, push and pull 30 pounds and up to 50 pounds with assistance. Must be able to communicate with others and complete ISO documentation accurately.
