Job summary

HI-LEX Controls in Litchfield, Michigan is seeking a dedicated supervisor to lead the Material Handling team at HCIC (Litchfield) facility. This full-time, first-shift role focuses on directing daily tasks, training staff, and ensuring safe equipment operation in a fast-paced plant environment.

The position requires a minimum of 5 years forklift experience and at least 1 year in a supervisory role, with strong proficiency in MS Office, Google Sheets, and Plex.

Qualifications

• Must be able to complete the Hi-Lex given forklift test.
• Must be able to drive all Hi-Lex equipment.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Must have excellent attention to detail, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructions to forklift operators while promoting a teamwork environment.
• Instruct drivers in the safe and proper operation of all equipment to move product to the workcells, and/or shipping/receiving docks and the loading of trucks.
• Works with the drivers to ensure a good 5S is followed.
• Must have knowledge of the MFG work cells, and what is required to ensure they are stocked properly.
• Maintaining FIFO throughout the entire plant.
• Knowledge of all tasks to be able to fill in for other drivers off.
• Knowledge of how to drive and operate all equipment in the plant.
• Approve time cards and PTO.
• Assist with Materials in managing all recycling trucks.
• Key communicator for all fork lift and battery repairs, reporting information to Materials Management.
• Will be the key person responsible for filling out incident reports, and/or working with others when something happens.
• Performs all KYT training, and other training required.
• Will assist the materials department in cycle count activity.
• Will train all drivers in location control and manage the activity.
• Will provide support for maintenance, engineering, sorts and other tasks outside of scope.

Position Summary

Directs material handlers daily tasks, and what areas they are covering. Ensuring they are performing their job safely by following the safety rules and regulations. They will also be responsible for training and continuing training of all material handlers.
