Bay Family of Companies in Lansing, MI is seeking a Material Handler to help keep production lines moving, manage materials, and support shipments and inventory. You’ll operate forklifts and ensure accurate material flow across the facility, contributing to a safe and efficient workspace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of manufacturing, warehouse, or material-handling experience preferred.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to become certified upon hire.
• Ability to accurately read and follow work orders and shipping documents.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, unload, transport, and stage raw materials and finished products.
• Operate forklifts and other approved material-handling equipment.
• Keep production supplied with the correct materials to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Prepare, package, and process outgoing shipments.
• Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and shipping documents.
• Identify and report damaged, missing, or incorrect materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and material movement records.
• Complete Bills of Lading, Picking Lists, Packing Slips, and other documentation.
• Perform quality checks on product condition, labeling, and documentation.
• Complete daily forklift safety inspections and report equipment concerns.
