Material Handler - Kansas City (Full-Time)

This position involves working in a warehouse environment, sorting, retrieving, and filing records for the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The work schedule is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, vacation, sick leave, and short- and long-term disability. The pay rate is $18.75 per hour, with additional funds for health and welfare.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to perform in a labor-intensive environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift boxes up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to climb ladders to reach shelving up to 15 feet high.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.

Essential Functions

• Locate, check, and verify containers or folders on shelving.
• Remove, check for discrepancies, and report issues with containers or folders.
• Organize containers or folders on streamliners, palletize, and prepare for disposal or relocation.
• Retrieve and process batch requests, sign out batches, and record pertinent information.
• Locate requested files or folders, verify, and report if not found or charged out.
• Prepare documents for scanning, verify image quality, and report issues.
• Complete basic data entry using handheld devices, assist with box list creation, and record project totals.
