Responsible for collaborating with the Plant Superintendent or Supervisor and Boiler Operator to ensure the accurate operation and maintenance of fuel handling systems, in accordance with plant procedures, guidelines, and rules. This includes driving loaders, maintaining conveyor belt and fuel systems, including fuel storage buildings and truck dump systems.

What You'll Be Doing

• Collaborate with the Plant Superintendent or Supervisor to establish preventive and predictive maintenance for fuel handling equipment including the loader.
• Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
• Understand and manage the operation and pile management of the fuel handling system, including fuel uploading/loading, working with the Boiler Operator, and taking corrective actions to ensure a reliable fuel supply, operating a John Deere 624H.
• Manage fuel handling inventory tracking, weighing, and control systems.
• Operate equipment such as loaders, bulldozers, and bobcats for fuel yard and plant operations, including ash removal. Work a varied schedule, including weekends and overtime, and be on call as needed.
• Support other job functions like Maintenance or Operations when required.
• Perform maintenance tasks as directed by supervisors.
• Coordinate fuel delivery schedules with the Plant Superintendent or Supervisor.
• During outages, may be responsible for specific maintenance tasks under supervision.
• Relieve other Auxiliary Operators during breaks, lunches, or absences.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures, reporting unsafe or abnormal conditions.
• Participate in training programs and maintain professional behavior.
• Maintain physical fitness for demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, working in confined spaces, and outdoor conditions.

What You'll Bring

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• At least 18 years old
• Basic English communication skills
• Ability to understand safety and work instructions, perform basic math, and work rotating shifts
• Ability to climb ladders/stairs, work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift 50 pounds
• Corrected eyesight if necessary

Compensation for this role is $22.60/hour plus shift differential, based on skills, experience, and location.
