Job summary

Astec is a global manufacturing company focused on infrastructure and materials handling. The role supports production by pulling, sorting, packing, and delivering materials to the proper locations according to the production schedule.

You will use the inventory system to track materials and help ensure timely, accurate shipments. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and up to one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0–1 year related experience and/or training.
• Forklift knowledge is a plus, but not required.
• Computer experience with a mouse and file handling basics.
• Problem-solving ability and adaptability.
• Ability to work independently with instructions and as part of a team.
• Good communication and ability to follow production instructions.
• Ability to meet production deadlines and handle associated stress.

Responsibilities

• Pull materials needed to fill orders and load/unload them.
• Develop and use forms to track materials.
• Move freight using equipment and verify items against packing slips.
• Package materials for shipping to internal and external customers.
• Communicate with internal customers for material requests.
• Create bills of lading and delivery forms.
• Locate and verify materials listed on production orders.
• Perform daily forklift and crane inspections.
• Cycle count inventory as directed by supervisor.
• Learn and use the current inventory computer system.
• Sort items by destination and ensure correct PO matching.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
