Job summary

AM General LLC is hiring a Material Handler in Mishawaka, IN. The role involves inventory control, unloading/loading materials, and delivering build materials to the assembly line in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The position is hourly with a starting wage of $19.25–$20.00, and employees are represented by the UAW. Responsibilities include following standardized work, using basic computer systems, and maintaining safety and cleanliness on the floor.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow standardized work and job instructions.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Inventory control and movement
• May unload, load and receive material
• May assemble kits, re-pack parts for delivery to the manufacturing plants
• Deliver build material to the assembly line
• Review build schedule and lineset to verify parts needed for production
• Maintain inventory accuracy by counting and adjusting assigned material
• Identify and communicate material shortages and hot parts to production supervisors and planners
• Scan material into location
• Manage dunnage and skids for efficiency
• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with safety rules
• Maintain a clean working environment
