Job Description
Switchcraft is a U.S. manufacturer of connectors, jacks, plugs, molded cable assemblies, patchbays, and switches. Our products are used in a wide variety of industries including medical, GPS, process control, transportation, homeland security, broadcast and pro audio.
We are currently seeking a Material Handler in our Injection Molding Department to ensure levels of raw materials are correct and available to operations.
Location: Chicago, IL (Jefferson Park)
Shift: M-F 7a - 3:30p
Pay: $17/Hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily monitoring of raw materials in ovens with temperatures ranging from 150 degrees F to 250 degrees F.
- Continuously monitors and ensures equipment are operating correctly.
- Ensuring material drums are labeled correctly with material number and weights.
- Cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping any/all resin spills on the production floor (including on and around machines).
- Cleans dryers, grinders, ovens, material trays, and other equipment to avoid contamination.
- Material blending.
- Verifying and weighing incoming components from stockroom.
- Safely transporting correct materials to correct work stations by carrying, dollies, and/or using a pallet jack.
- Assisting Set-Up Techs and Group Leader with machine set-up and tear down. Including bringing/removing boxes of components to and from the workstation, verifying work orders, prints, QA cards are present at the start, during, and removed from the work station at the end of run.

- Must able to adapt to frequent change, and basic math skills.
No experience is necessary.
Additional Information:
- May be required to work overtime
- May be required to walk, stand or sit for extended periods of time
- May be required to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, climb ladders.
- May work in tight spaces.
- Will be exposed to odor of plastic and elevated noise levels
- May lift up to 55 pounds
- Must be able to wear required PPE
