Job summary

BlueScope North America is hiring a Material Handler to operate forklifts, overhead cranes or other mobile equipment, performing receiving, loading, unloading, and staging of materials at our Jackson, TN site.

Standard hours are Monday-Friday 2:30 pm–11:00 pm with some OT. Starting pay is $23.51/hr plus $2/hr shift differential. We offer training, supportive team, inclusive environment, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be detail-oriented and safety-conscious.
• Hands-on work with forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Able to work in a team and follow procedures.
• Diligence in loading, unloading and inventory staging.

We’re looking for skilled and detail-oriented individuals to operate forklifts, overhead cranes or other mobile equipment to perform a variety of intermediate and complex activities such as receiving inventory, loading and unloading, as well as staging and moving raw materials and finished goods within or near plant, yard, warehouse or work site. Standard hours are Monday-Friday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm with some OT required. These hours are subject to change during peak season.

Starting pay for this position is $23.51/hr. + $2/hr. shift differential

What You’ll Do

• Load Materials: Load and unload raw materials and finished goods onto or from pallets, industrial racks, trailers, trucks, etc.
• Transport Materials: Transports materials from storage or production areas and places in designated areas.
• Lift and Position Materials: Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed.
• Contribute to Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain and Organize: Keep track of material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, such as 5-S practices.
