Job summary

Accelera in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a dedicated Material Handler III for a 12-month contract. The role runs 7:00 AM–3:30 PM EST with a pay rate of $21 per hour, supporting warehouse operations through manual freight movement and general labor tasks.

You will label containers, track movements, load and unload materials with hoisting equipment, and help keep stock organized. A HS diploma and 1–3 years’ experience, plus basic computer skills and proficiency with Excel, are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Between one and three years of relevant professional experience.
• Capacity to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Proficiency in basic computer operations.
• Practical experience working with Microsoft Excel or comparable software applications.

Responsibilities

• Label containers with necessary identification or apply appropriate markings.
• Review work orders or verbal directives to clarify task requirements and necessary equipment.
• Document the volume of units processed and relocated via daily production logs or tracking tickets.
• Ensure the efficient movement of stock and materials between storage, production zones, and transport vehicles to facilitate smooth operations.
• Organize cargo systematically prior to the loading or unloading process.
• Construct shipping crates and product containers utilizing hand tools and prepared lumber.
• Operate hoisting equipment and winches to manage the loading and unloading of cargo.
• Secure items into containers and perform necessary repacking for damaged goods.
• Retrieve essential tools and supplies from storage areas and ensure their proper return once tasks are complete.
