Position SummaryThe Material Handler III is responsible for loading and/or unloading trucks. They are also responsible for receiving, checking, storing, counting and distributing inventory of all types in accordance with established systems, procedures and methods.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain safe and positive work environment in compliance with OSHA, company standards, and local, state and federal requirements
- Perform tasks necessary to meet warehouse goals
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork
- Manage day to day inventory levels
- Maintain Forklift certification
- Periodic inventories
- Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend to management remedial actions to resolve discrepancies
- Timely execution of daily receiving and shipping load board; oversee the receipt of purchased goods verifying counts, quality and complete all required paperwork and transactions associated with this process
- Stack and arrange product on pallets
- Complete forklift and pallet jack inspections before each shift
- Replenish stock while maintaining a cleaned and organized warehouse/location daily
- Move product in warehouse/location as necessary during reallocations of space or taking of inventory
- Rotate product and arrange according to Julian dates or FIFO (first in first out)
- Receive and check against receiving documents incoming products, ensuring proper product code, quantity and condition; report any discrepancies to the lead
- Operate electric forklifts and pallet jacks
- Work in and out of the freezers, temperatures average 32 degrees to -25 degrees
- General support of production
Employee Safety Responsibilities:
- Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and horseplay
- Use proper lifting techniques
- Use mechanical assistance (handjack, forklift, manlift)
- Use personal assistance (buddy)
- Use handrails
- Use and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Temperatures throughout plant average 50 degrees. Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company. Must comply with Food Safety: GMP’S, SSOP, SOP, HACCP, SQF, and Quality requirements.
Position Qualifications- Prefer High school diploma or GED
- 3-4 years of warehouse, manufacturing or production experience
- One year of shift lead experience with sound, effective communication skills
- Maintain forklift certification
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Ability to work in production/warehouse environment with constant exposure to loud machinery
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, both indoors and outdoors
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
