Job summary

Visual Comfort & Co. is seeking a reliable Material Handler III to join our Houston warehouse team. You will load, unload, and move materials, ensuring accurate placement and efficient flow through the facility.

The role requires 1–3 years of warehouse experience, a current forklift license, and the ability to work a Monday–Friday evening shift. We offer comprehensive benefits, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with company matching.

Qualifications

• Experience with picking parts from work instructions.
• Must read, write, understand, and speak English.

• Excellent communication across email, chat, and phone.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.

The Material Handler III duties include, but are not limited to, loading, unloading and moving material in the warehouse.

How success is defined:

• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.


• Conveys materials to designated storage areas.


• Effectively communicating with Table leads to facilitate efficient Material flow.


• Proactively identify damaged parts and call immediate attention to it.


• Follow all safety procedures including proper usage of safety equipment and tools.


• Must demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to an agreed-upon schedule as determined by Manager.


• Adhere to all safety, OSHA guidelines, work rules and policies and focuses daily on housekeeping inside and outside of the facility.

• Works effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.


• Must demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule. While being present in the workplace to effectively collaborate and communicate amongst co-workers and teams.

What you will bring:

• A minimum of 1 to 3 years of full-time industry experience in a warehouse, distribution center, order fulfillment center, logistics, supply chain operations or manufacturing environment.


• High school diploma or equivalent


• Experience with picking parts or components from work instructions.


• Current Forklift license and certification. Ability to exhibit experience with a stand-up high lift deep reach forklift equipment, pallet riders and/or stock pickers.


• Must exhibit the ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.


• Strong aptitude for and proficiency navigating Systems and Programs


• Experience in interior design, custom home building products, luxury home furnishings and/or lighting industry a plus


• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail


• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities


• Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation


• Demonstrate exceptional communication across all contact channels, including email, chat and phone


• Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, late evenings


• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for this role

Compensation Range: $19.60 per hour
