Position Summary

The Material Handler performs physical or administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. Responsibilities include checking goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintaining records, rejecting unsatisfactory items, packaging and preparing products for shipment, and posting weights and shipping charges. The role may involve lifting heavy items and operating a forklift. The Material Handler reviews customer orders, examines, stocks, and distributes merchandise and materials in warehouses or manufacturing lines.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Level Description

Demonstrates proficiency in and working knowledge of several areas of the function. Handles semi-routine duties.

Qualifications

• Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
• Years of Related Experience: 1 to 2 years.
• Physical Requirements: Regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, use hands, operate a computer, and have specific vision abilities. Frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Use of Personal Protective Equipment is required in field, production, or warehouse settings.
