At this exciting time in our company, ABC Stone has an opportunity for an experienced Material Handler II/Driver to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

Materials Handler II loads and unloads material within the warehouse. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks and within the storage facility. May record flow, report where moving product. As a Driver, you are responsible for the safe loading, unloading, transportation, and delivery of natural stone products in a timely and efficient manner. You must be reliable, focused on customer satisfaction, and liaising with various functional areas of the business.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Duties/Responsibilities:
  1. Works under moderate supervision of Warehouse Supervisor.
  2. Uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  3. Utilize forklift, hoists, or other handling equipment to move stone slabs & crates.
  4. Perform a variety of warehouse duties such as: pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy and completeness.
  5. Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, etc.
  7. Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions, and acts to Management.
  8. May be required to offload and reload the photo station with materials.
  9. This position may be included in the photo station rotation.
  10. Follow strict safety standards on and off the road.
  11. Ability to use navigation tools.
  12. Ability to plan delivery routes.
  13. Responsible for all paperwork and required signatures (packing slips).
  14. Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
  15. Forklift experience and certification (preferred).
  16. Experience working in the Natural Stone industry (preferred).
  17. Ability to work on a rotating Saturday shift (preferred).
  18. Ability to work well with other employees in the warehouse and administrative offices.
  19. Ability to remain courteous and professional at all times.
  20. Must be able to pass a Drug Test and DOT.
  21. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  22. Perform other related duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  1. Knowledge of commonly used practices & procedures within the stone industry.
  2. Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  3. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
  4. Gains or has attained full proficiency in the stone industry.
  5. 1-3 years of related experience.
  6. Ability to work as a team with co-workers.
  7. Forklift experience with certificate (preferred).
  8. Basic math skills.
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

3 years general work experience.

Physical Requirements:
  1. Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
  2. Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach above shoulder level, fine finger dexterity.
  3. May be required sometimes to sit, climb or balance.
  4. Lift and or move up to 80 pounds regularly.
  5. Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.
  6. Required vision abilities: peripheral, and ability to adjust focus.
  7. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  8. Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and a wide range of temperatures.
  9. At times exposed to loud noise levels.
