Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Virginia is seeking a Material Handler II to support the Frames Department by loading, unloading, and moving materials safely and accurately, ensuring flow and timely distribution of components. This role emphasizes inventory control, safe forklift operation, and collaboration with the distribution team.

The ideal candidate will have forklift experience, basic manufacturing knowledge, and a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience pulling orders (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Consignment inventory, location to location moves, & inventory adjustments.
• Operates hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks or within the facility.
• Responsible for the ongoing inventory accuracy of the facility.
• Notifies Inventory Control, Receiving Lead & Receiving Supervisor when material control issues are discovered.
• Works with Inventory Control & Lead(s) during investigations of quality issues, inventory issues, shipping complaints and process improvements.
• Works as part of the Distribution team to ensure all requested material transfers are completed accurately in a timely manner.
• Transfers, transports and stages materials in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintains warehouse documentation and other related records.
• Participates in the continuous improvement of the distribution department.
• Communication of job status between shifts and continuation of work in progress.
• Quickly and effectively shifts gears to meet changing business requirements.
• Helps establish continuous improvement processes that result in the most effective use of all resources, reducing costs, and improving quality.

What we are looking for

The Material Handler will be responsible for accurately and safely loading and unloading of materials while maintaining the flow of materials to the organizations to ensure that all aspects of the company needs are being met for our Frames Department.

Basic qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 12 months warehouse experience

• 2+ years’ experience pulling orders in a warehouse environment.

• Occasional extended hours are required.

Pay Range

USD 18.00 - 19.00 Hourly
